new graphics card fan not spinning

  Gibbons 11:59 11 Aug 2008

I just bought a new graphics card (nvidia 8800 gt, overclocked by BFG tech) to replace my previous one. Just installed the drivers and restarted and is recognised but the fan isn't spinning, making it overheat unless I keep a deskfan trained on it!

It looks like it starts to spin but then stops again again only a second.

Is it busted?

Advice as always greatly appreciated.

Best return the item where you bought it and ask for a replacement.
Could just be a faulty fan, but if you do remove and replace it, the product warranty may become null & void

This are from the Specification Sheet

"One 6-pin PCI Express supplementary power connector -or- Two 4-pin Molex supplementary power connectors"

Have you made sufficient connections?

Yeah power supply is connected up fine.

I took it back to the shop, guy agreed it was busted and sent it off to BFG for replacement.

Thanks for the advice.
