New graphic card

  WILJO 14:46 04 Feb 2010

My existing graphic card is a Radeon x300. Recently it seems to be getting quite hot and causing the pc to shut down. Is there a reasonably priced alternative available. I have an Intel D915PBL mobo with a Pentium 4 3.2ghz cpu. Power supply is CIT Gold 450w. Any advice appreciated

You could try a better VGA cooler, but it could be difficult to get one that's compatible with your card.

It has a PCI-E x16 slot according to the specs (click here), so here are some options if you go for a new graphics card:

ATI: click here

Nvidia: click here

Please be aware that some have large coolers that'll occupy at least one adjacent expansion slot.

Choose Super Saver delivery at checkout to keep costs down.

Shop around as you may find them cheaper elsewhere, & also look on eBay where you could pick up a bargain. G
