New computer can't read USB or Ethernet

I just bought a new computer. I install windows 7 successfully. My computer is able to read my keyboard with a USB plug and my mouse with USB plug. The problem is it wont read any flash drive or my Ethernet Cable. With those problem i can't get access to the internet. Please help.

Is it a new PC that came without an OS? Usually these come with a motherboard drivers disk you need to install.

Plug in a flash drive - go to device manager select USB - Action - scan for new hardware.

what does it find then?

I agree that it sounds like the motherboard drivers have not been installed. If you don't have them you need to download them and put them on an optical disk, or temporarily put the hard disk in another machine to transfer them.
