2 obvious reasons, unless the import regs are different for Scotland. you could get caught for import tax, putting the price up to similar costs over here.

And if anything goes wrong, its a long way to send it back or rely on telephone help.

I TAKE IT FROM MY NAME JIMV7 U ASUME I AM SCOTTISH,WELL U ASSUME CORRECT,ALLTHOUGH I NOW LIVE IN ENGLAND,THE COST OV IMPORT IS THE SAME AS VAT IN THE UK SO I WOULD PAY VAT ON COST OV COMP AMD P/P EG: £1300 +£100 P/P = £1400 X 17.5%-= £1645 ASSUMING P/P IS £100.
AS FOR SOMETHING GOING WRONG I CAN GET COMPUTER INSURANCE IN THE UK TO COVER THAT,AND ON THAT BASIS ALONE I'M STILL NOT CONVINCED THE UK IS THE BEST SOURCE.

Walk into your local small computer shop and wave your specs together with £1400 and watch them fall over each other to improve on it.

By the way, capitals are looked upon as shouting.

  clayton 22:43 28 Feb 2004

you would have to fit a new psu for the uk voltage unless it comes with a switchable one

  TTP 23:03 28 Feb 2004

Not wishing to get in too much on this subject but i have seen AMD 64 pc's with almost similar specs here for £899 (i think it was at TINY.COM); but it is late at night and i could be wrong about inclusive VAT

  dfghjkl 23:32 28 Feb 2004

i would not take the risk, even at half the price

  HIGHLANDER77 23:54 28 Feb 2004

Clayton i was impressed allthough the cpu was not the AMD FX 51,and i will give it some thought.
TTP i would really love to no where u saw the same specs in the UK.
Ans Jimv7 sorry for shouting.
