networking for old 1997 NEC direction SE350B

  Iguanagirl77 11:01 03 Oct 2008

I am looking for a PCI network card for an old 1997 nec direction SE350B pc. It only has a ram of 128mb, which cannot be upgraded and I have been advised by NEC support that they cannot guarantee a new pci nic will work in this model. (I tried to install a new one and it prevented the pc from booting up)

Can anybody recommend a used parts dealer? or does anyone have an old pci nic they want to get rid of? This must be circa 1997 though.

I look forward to hearing from you.

ebay is perfect for finding this.

You'll need either a 5v card or a dual voltage one ( 3.3v and 5v ) as the early PCI slots only delivered 5v maybe an Ethernet and BNC combo card might do the trick . If the PC has an ISA slot you can easily get a 10MB/S network card on eBay , although they actually cost a bit more than a 10/100 card ...
