please offer advice on the following problem.
I have the following setup:
windows xp pro on main pc
linksys access point wap54g connected to an intel network card on main pc.
adsl zoom modem connected by usb to main pc.
laptop is a wireless connection running win xp home.
now i can access main pc from laptop and access laptop from main pc.
problem is i do not have internet on laptop and cannot figure out why.
ip for modem on main pc is something like 81.154.106.158 intel network card is 192.168.0.5 both with a subnet of 255.255.255.0
so on laptop set wireless connection to ip 192.168.0.7 same sub but then gateway of same as network card and then the dns same as modem.
I beleive this to be the right configuration.Or it would not communicate.
I can ping each ip from each machine.
any ideas???

Have you set PCs to allow Internet Connection Sharing?

Also what firewall are you using?

I would have a run through Start>Help and Support, It is pretty comprehensive with regard to networking and ICS.

just reading through your post again, try setting the gateway for your laptop as the IP address of your main PC i.e.192.168.0.5.
