i'm running 4 computers on a shared broadband connection.
They were all fine untill they were turned off lastnight. (The broad band was also turned off 2)
I came to them this morning and now only one computer can get a connection.

Any help is greatly appreaciated.

i take the cable from the cable box and put it into the box which shares it into 4. Then obviously one cable to each machines ethernet card.

Could it be that your ISP has 'enforced' its policy to not allow sharing of its connection? Some dont allow it you know? Matbe check on their website for any updates?

Would this have happend over night?, or would it have needed to be switched off for the settings to take affect?

I think you need to find out just what you have and report back. You should find a lot of detail on the ' boxes '.
Who is your ISP provider, your email address will give you a clue.

Is your 'Cable box' a modem or set top box that came with cable TV.
