Network Problems

I have a network set up in my flat which until recently consisted of a desktop attached to a router via ethernet cable, and a laptop connected wirelessly. This works fine and I have set up the network to share files across.

I have just added another desktop to the network with ethernet cable and set up the network on that as I did with the others, however it does not seem to be able to see the other computers on the network and for some reason on the other computers I can see the new one, but cannot access it.

Also I have some trouble accessing the Internet through the new PC. I am connected directly into the router and can access some Internet sites (Google / Hotmail and a few others) but not all. I cannot update any of my programs either (Virus / Spyware / Windows).

I thought it might be a firewall issue, but I have turned it off and the problem persists. Anyone have any ideas?

Thanks a lot.
