I am trying to set up a network printer using windows XP. The network works finwe and file and printer sharing are both enabled. However when I try and "add a printer" to the remote computer I get as far as the browse for a printer box, which lists the printer, but when I click next I am asked for a password!! Never seen this before, has anyone else?

Enter the password from the user account on the other client.

When networking, it's best to have passworded user accounts because you'll often be asked for a password when setting up share access and relate things. You're being asked because it expects you to have one. Often, people will create a new account just for this purpose.

Have you tried setting a password yet? Created a common account yet? Passworded a limited user account?
