how can i find out if i have a network coard fited to my pc & all the drives/

Right click My Computer and select Properties

Click on Hardware tab and then click on Device Manager

i just have asdl adopter this means i need a network card for a netgear dg834g. get that instale that will allow me to connect to the internet. is this sounding like that is the problem. just not sure.

If, by a "adsl adopter" you mean a broadband modem that sits between your phone point and your computer, yes you will need a network card on the computer to be able to use the netgear router instead of the broadband modem.

Unless your computer has a built in network card capability (only likely on more recent PCs) you'll need a slot in network card.

If you aren't too familiar with exactly what's needed and how to do it, you'd be best going into a PC store and asking for their advice / assistance.
