Netgear Modem - Cannot Connect To Internet

Me and my Dad installed a Netgear DM111P ADSL 2 Ethernet Modem onto his PC today (Windows Vista Basic) and even though the modem states that it is connected, when he opens I.E. he cannot get the internet on.

Can anyone help?

if it is a different modem from the one that came free from your isp you may have to run the isp's cd again.

hi again ....on your old modem did you need to supply your details to logon to the internet ....?
(in the form of a dial up connection )ie:usename & password or does the virgin one use AOL software ?

Had to have username and password and then click connect

You need to go to Setup Page, Use IE enter the Web address like that's only an example your may differ if it get's a page type admin to get in. Then put your ISP in and User Password etc
