Netgear DG834gv3 support WPA?

Hi, I have just set up the Netgear DG834g v3 wireless router at home and have to set the security settings. I have tried on the Netgear forum and website to find info as to whether this router will support WPA but cannot find the answer. Does anyone know if this is so or if it only supports WEP.

I am almost sure I read on the Netgear site that home computers are unlikely to get hacked and that WPA can affect router performance. They seemed to be saying that WEP is good enough for home computers.

I would appreciate input on this issue. At the moment I have set up WEP.

Thanks for any opinions.

Does it support WPA ? Yes it does !!

WPA doesn't affect router performance , but decoding it can ( and does )affect older PC's therefore reducing the effective range of the wireless adapter used . click here for the definitive Netgear answer .

Thanks for your reply, Ashrich. I wasn't sure if my version would do, as it is a couple of years old and I am not very knowlegable at all on these things. My desktop pc is about six years old so I don't know what to do. I suppose I could try it and see how it goes.

Thanks again!
