Nero Buffer not good (plz help urgent)

hey there
i just recently changed my operation system to windows 2000 from window xp, now when i try to make a cd or dvd on nero 6 ultra i get a crap buffer read level and it takes about an hour longer to burn a dvd and about 10mins longer for a cd,
on my old system (xp) i had the buffer level always at 99% now its really badplz help me as i have to make a pile of dvds and cds tonight.

and i have downloaded the latest demo verion off and still burns the same, im scunnered, alway the stupidest things that go wrong.
im burning a dvd at the moment and its going to take 45mins when it should take 15 at 4x

yes i know you have nero 6 ultra but you may not have the latest updates for it.

to find your version start nero and click "help/about nero" my version is for instance but the latest update will bring it up to version

you have dma enabled?
start...control panel...system...hardware...device manager...expand the + next to IDE/ATAPI controllers right click primary ide channel then scroll down to properties then advanced settings ensure transfer mode is dma if available.

do the same with the secondary ide channel

i did the above when i had similar problems changed it from PIO to DMA if available.
