Windows XP Home SP2, nero
Whenever I try to use Nero to burn an audio CD to a CD R media, it fails immediately with the message "Power calibration error". Can anyone advise what the source of the problem might be please? Phillips CDRW2000 writer and Packard Bell 48x speed CD-R.

Have you tried different CDs? Seems to be caused by poor media going by google's results.

OK I will try a Sony CR-R and see what happens. Thanks

Diodorus Sicolus. You were proved correct I think. I tried Nero with a SONY CDR and it worked perfectly. Maybe there are cheap varieties of CDs such as Packard Bell which aren't up to the task?
Thanks for your advice. Nero took 4 minutes to write 18 music tracks, whereas the Windows CD writer took far longer.
