Need tip for removing a file

  Migwell 23:30 17 Sep 2004

I have a file on my computer that has become corrupt. It is my downloaded master copy of google tool bar which I keep on my (F: Hard Drive) which is where I download all files to from over the Internet before I install them onto C drive etc.

I am using Disk Keeper Light as my Defragmenter and this stops at this corrupt file, as it can't read it. It also keeps warning me that Diskeeper cant proceed past this file, I have tried to remove it normaly and through the command prompt without any success. do any of my friends out there know a way to remove this file as I have run out of ideas.

What sort of error messages etc do you get when you try to remove it???

Have you tried booting the PC into safe mode and then trying??

Also try making a note of the directory string and deleting it in DOS mode.

Hope this helps. Garry.

Not showing up in there. Only sign refers to the installed program

In the end I moved all the other files and directories to a new folder on my C: drive and then formatted the F: drive with NTFS then moved the files that I wanted to keep back to F:

Why didn't I think of that sooner?

It had buged me for days now it is solved. Thank you for any help offered.
