Any recommendations welcomed, also needs to accept compatible cartridges. Mostly used for text, but nice if it could print a half decent photo. My old faithful epsom 680 has given up the ghost.

The Epson range show some inexpensive models and from my experience with a C44UX accept compatible cartridges readily.
I currently have a Lexmark, which will take compatibles, but is expensive to run. I don't recommend it.

Have a look here click here=

I have bought equipment from Morgans in the past and have found them excellent. Always worth a look.

The best bargain around at present, if you also want more versatility, is the Epson MFD DX4400/4450 at just £39.

Even just as a printer it takes some beating.

I've just found it even cheaper at CCL..:-)
