need more space

Hello all, my hard drive is getting full, 232GB, 200GB being used. I have deleted stuff using add/remove in control panal, but i was wondering would deleting stuff from my documents improve the situation? Does removing items from this folder actually make more space or are you just removing the icon from the folder? Is there another way of making more space apart from what i've mentioned?

Deleting anything on the HDD will free up some space.

I think in practical terms you have a choice of three options:

1. Buy a new, larger HDD.

2. Use an external HDD/CDs/DVDs to download photos, documents and other data you want to keep.

3. Go through the content of your HDD and delete everything you really don`t want. Remember that once you empty the Recycle Bin it is gone, you will never see it again.

You could also run a good Registry cleaner (Ccleaner/RegScrupXP or perhaps Advanced System Care - on this month`s PCA disk) which may also free up some room.

Removing files (Word, Excel, etc) from My Documents will create a tiny bit of extra space.

Removing photos and/or videos will create a lot more space.

Removing ALL those programs you never use will create a hell of a lot of space.

Removing restore points will also create a lot of space.

Running CCLeaner regularly will also help
