Need Help to Identify "PCI Early non-VGA Device"

  [DELETED] 14:41 15 Jan 2004

The item "PCI Early non-VGA Device" shows up under "Other Devices" in System Properties >> Device Manager

Windows ME can't find drivers for it and I can't fathom out what it is. I seem to have accounted for everything connected/plugged into the PC in the other catagories.

My Motherboard is a 'Chantech 7KJD' AMD Socket A Duron - Chipsets are AMD761 northbridge and VIA VT8231 southbridge.

I am hoping to get rid of the Yellow ? (question mark) and ! (exclamation mark) on this object.

Any clues anyone?

this is for win 95 but im guessing its similar here

update your motherboard drivers or point device manager to your motherboard cdrom

Stupid me never thought of putting the mobo drivers disk in while it searched for drivers!!

It turned out to be 'Advanced Power Management'

and the entry in 'Other Devices' has gone.

All Clear now - no errors

Thanks again
