navapsvc.exe, and a problem.

Much of the time, when i try and shut down my PC, (and some of the time when trying to re-start) I get an error message, and the cause is navapsvc.exe

normally 'cannot read memory at 00x00000 (or somtihing like it, but it is all zero's)

Have run memtest, and no memory problems detected.

My pc hangs with this error, and i have to hit the reset button. then it will not reboot, and i have to hit the reset yet again, and pick last known configuration. then i get back in.

A search of google suggests this is part of norton anti virus.

any suggestion about what is going on, nd how to avoid in the future?

Thanks in advance. D

Are all your symantec products updated via liveupdate?

Yes. Auto live up date.

The problem only occures about 50% of the time. I can't find any reliable way of 'making it happen' It either does, or does not.
