Hello All,
The nano iPod .....Do I need to install the supplied software to convert and download the songs from my PC to the iPod.Or will XP detect the iPod as an external drive. So I can then drag the tracks to the iPod icon????.I would sooner use the simple software I have been using for a while.
Many thanks,Mike

You'll need to use iTunes [which will be found on the CD supplied with the nano, or there is a more up to date version ready for download].

Once you connect the nano, iTunes will kick in and tranfer songs over.

iTunes will offer to convert the songs to MP3 so the nano can pay them.

The nano will be seen in My Computer but you cannot drag and drop songs.

So the first thing to do is to install iTunes and import your music.

You can use the iPod as a hard drive click here but that will not enable the data to be played as music - for that you msut use iTunes or an suitable alternative to send the music to the pod.

There are alternate psuedo iTunes plugins for other players such as this winamp one click here
