I am new to mysql, apache and php. After a long struggle I managed to install apache, php and mysql. apache and php working perfect. mysql on its own work ok.
when i try to connect php to mysql using the folllowing command

$LINK = mysql_connect( "localhost" , "mano", "durgakali");

I get the following error message on the browser!!!

Fatal error: Call to undefined function mysql_connect() in c:\program files\apache group\Apache\htdocs\tmp1alx68bw75.php on line 14
any ideas

I assume you are using PHP5. In PHP 5, MySQL is no longer enabled by default, nor is the MySQL library bundled with PHP.

This is from the php site "Windows users will need to enable php_mysql.dll inside of php.ini and either copy libmysql.dll into the Windows system directory, or make it available to the PATH."

Hope this helps.
