My PC completely froze and I don't know what to do

Ok so I've had this PC for only a couple of days, and it worked fine till now. It might have to do with a torrent I installed a while ago, and my dumbass didn't properly check it, but it seemed alright. The program I installed ran perfectly and no additional programs were downloaded.

It's until I left the PC open and came back half an hour ago to see it completely frozen. The monitor works fine, as the windows react when I press alt. Nothing is working, and turning it on and off just shows the same start screen with no background and 2 tabs open.

Any advice?

you have just learnt why torrents are bad , you need to reboot to a never used state and start as if you just bought it.

I only ever used a music torrent once , I downloaded some tangerine dream albums and as soon as 1 of the albums started to download I got a green square in middle of screen and ended up with what you got now.

if you must use a torrent you must also except what has happened , whenever I get a new pc I always keep my old one just for downloading but I still don't do torrents on it.
