i am thinking about building my first pc from scratch , and these are the parts i will use : CPU : Intel Pentium G2020 Dual Core CPU

MOTHERBOARD : Gigabyte SKT-1155 H61MA-D3V

CASE : Cooler Master K-Series K380

POWER SUPLY : Evo Labs Silent Modular ATX Power Supply

HARD DISK : Western Digital Caviar Blue 500GB SATAIII

RAM : Corsair CMX4GX3M1A1333C9 XMS3 4GB

Any thoughts about it , i will use windows seven for the OS . And maybe in the future i will upgrade to a seperate video card , any sugestions? thanks

Am I right to assume this is a budget build? If so it is still possible to save a few more quid.

Your motherboard is a M-ATX size whereas you case is really for the next sized board up the will still fit OK but it is going to look a tittle small in a big case. Can I suggest a case I have used myself in the past the Fractal Core 1000. Great cases with excellent airflow.

As for you power supply(PSU) this is one component you should not skimp on, also you really do not need 650W even if you do decide to add a graphics card in the future. This would be a better choice I feel. Corsair.

The rest is fine.

thanks very much for the reply , one more question are all the parts compatible , and what video card do you suggest?

Yes the parts are compatible. To answer your question on a GPU I would need to know your budget and whether you were a gamer or not.

thanks for the answer , yes i am a gamer , my budget would be between 250-300£ .

Sorry mate I am not sure I understand as you are willing to spend 300 quid on a GPU but only 40 quid on a pretty rubbish PSU. The PSU is a very important component and if that fails and the cheaper brands the possibility is more than probable, if it fails it can take the rest of your parts with it. That is why I advised the Corsair one.

For that cash I would get a GTX 670 or a HD7950.

Chronos - I've got a horrible feeling that he meant £300 for total system.

  padraig2013 16:19 27 Jul 2013

no ,sorry meant on the hole build i wanted to spend £250 - £300

  Chronos the 2nd 16:59 27 Jul 2013

Sorry mate You are in deep doodoo with that sort of cash as it is not nearly enough for a decent gaming build.

If you switch to the Fractal case or any cheaper case then so far you will have spent just over £226 so that leaves around 75 quid to spend on a GPU.

You have not mentioned what type of games you play but this is not bad GTX 640 and within budget. Or there's the HD 7750.

This wouldn't be a bad gaming machine (not a great one, but not bad) and you might get lucky...
