Which "process" in Task Manager is showing an excessively high percentage of CPU resources?

  birdface 11:52 02 Jun 2008

Like mgmcc says what program is hogging your CPU.

  uok 12:06 02 Jun 2008

mem usage

firefox.exe 105,612k, msmpeng.exe 47,616k, winssui.exe 45,556k

cpu time

system idle process 33:34:01, acrod32.exe 2:0:5

and still running at 100%

  birdface 12:14 02 Jun 2008

Taskmanager.Processes.Under CPU what programs are using up most of it.Not the file sizes.% likes of System Idle Service should be showing about 97% if nothing running.

Do you use adobie acrobat reader? I did. It kept locking up the system. So I ditched it and now use foxit here

Are you using Windows Live OneCare/Windows Defender? If so there's afew hit's on Google that suggest that they may hog 100% CPU.

Apart from disabling Defender there's a suggestion on here that might help click here

disabled Windows Live OneCare and it's still running 100%
no i don't use adobie acrobat reader?

If you open task manager,if you click on the processes tab, look under cpu and see what program it is that's hogging your cpu.

I think its avgrsx, which by the way I keep uninstalling, I also used revo to uninstall it, but it keeps coming back, is it this that’s causing my problem?
