'My Computer' window - layout needs restoring

The standard Windows XP layout for the 'My Computer' window is with the hard drives, external drives, CD/DVD drives, scanners etc.segregated into their own titled sub-sections with a horizontal bar between each section.

Something has changed in my PC such that now I simply get a normal window with all the items present but no sub-sections or section titles.

I have tried re-setting all windows to their default settings, but this hasn't changed the 'My Computer' window.

How can I restore it to the sectional view?

Do you mean that you show the List view? Click on View menu and select different views to try - Tiles, Thumbnails etc

Open Folder – Click View – Arrange Icons By Type and Click Show In Groups

Many thanks for your responses Sea Urchin & ambra4. Ambra4 'hit the nail on the head' (I guessed there would be an easy way - if only I knew how) and all is now 'back to normal'.
