My computer and monitor are not working! Help!

  Theman 07:01 12 Mar 2019

When I had my old PC (gtx980, core i7, etc.) My computer was working normally and my Asus ROG 144hz monitor was amazing. A couple of days ago I got an upgrade. I got an RTX2070 and some more ram and SSD. Yesterday when I launched my computer my monitor wasn't recognised my my PC and was displayed as an 800x600 Microsoft product. I couldn't change my resolution because it would revert back the changes. It is like that today as well. I tried reinstalling Nvidia drivers, restarting my PC and pretty much anything I could do. I have no idea what the source of the problem is, and I don't want to take my PC apart. I have projects and school stuff on it and I really need it to work properly.

Do you get a Single POST beep when you turn it on? If not, reseat the RAM.

You'd better tell us how you went about installing the SSD and putting an OS on it

Is the monitor connected to the RTX2070 or have you got it connected to the onboard graphics by mistake?

Are the fans running on the card? and card powered?

Remove and refit the card and recheck all connections.

Also check in device manager to see if your old cards drivers are still active and if so disable them.
