My Athlon 2400+ only thinks its a 1800+, (1500MHz)

Cant really explain it any more.

I built a PC for a friend with Athlon XP 2400+ (I did check the box, but could see any indication of speed on the chip itself)

When I booted up, it says its only 1800+ running at 1.5GHz.

Could this be a problem with setting the wrong front side bus speed? or have I got the wrong chip?

BTW all the bits are from Dabs.

You have the FSB set at 100Mhz when it should be 133Mhz

that could well be the problem, will try that, I do remember seeing a single jumper I could change,

The bus speed is set to 100MHz cos if it had been set to 133MHz and you had put a Duron in you would have been pretty livid i think.
