Music cut and convert

I have a piece of music that i converted to a wav sound as i wish to use it on my web site. However as it is now a wav file it is now larger than usual and takes a while to dwonload.

Also, I wish to just use a part of it and have it recurring.

Can i use anything other than wav files on a website .. i think MP3 does not work.

In essence, i wish to use part of the music and don't kow how to record that bit and also make it smaller so it's quicker to load

Try audacity to edit / record the bits you want.

If you've got Nero, then you can use the Wave Editor to do this.

Have converted it to a wav file and midi file but neither is of any use really. Thanks for help with splitting though that is a good tool.
