msn messenger

I have just reinstalled windows live messenger after not having it for a long time and have forgotten how to send messages.I wanted to send a offline message but there does not appear to be a send button for me to click on.Can someone advise on how to use msn.

On checking the bottom of the task bar I find I now have windows messenger and windows live messenger are these different or the same thing.Before I must have used windows messenger and have now installed live messenger.

Type the message and just press the enter button on the keypad.

Windows Live Messenger and Windows Live mail is what I have.
Click on one at a time and press the help button at the top it will tell you what they are.
If you are still using XP it looks like you also have the 4.7 version of Windows messenger.
If I remember right very hard to remove best just going into messenger.Tools.Options and stop it running at start up.
