Last night when I went to log onto MSN explorer, it told me that the service was not installed. I just used it the other night. MSN asked me if they could fix the problem, but to no aveil. When I went to add/remove to add windows components, I clicked on messenger. The program told me that I was missing a file ( can't remember) and told me to locate it on my sp2 disk. It still could not find it. I re-installed sp2, and it installed on my back-up drive instead of my drive c. When asked to re-boot, i did and found that the installation file on my drive d was now gone. I have yet to try to re-install msn explorer. I have had some boot issues. Reduced time by about 10. I am going to have to recheck the services. So what do you all think about this scenario. Is it headed up or headed down. I might try a F8, and boot to last best known configuration, since the XP system restore point is worthless, I am beginning to think that service pack 2 let alone XP is beginning to suck bigtime.
