Got myself a new 22" LCD (NEC) which requires 1680x1050 setting for best display quality.
My graphics card can provide this resolution on its VDA output but not on DVI (I can go to a 1900x1600 on the DVI). The outcome is that when using the DVI, scaling is used & the picture is rubbish!i run XP SP3 & been to MSI site for updated drivers.
Any ideas why the resolution settings of the card vary between its VDA & DVI outputs?
PS. I also run Linux Mandriva on the same PC and I can get 1680x1050 out of the DVI connector!

You should be able to get 1680x1050. Try the drivers from the Nvidia site click here instead of the MSI site.

And check your refresh rate is set at 60hz or whatever your monitor requires.
