MS Word & Excell un-install

  Healer13 23:22 04 Nov 2003

I need to un-install Word & Excell then re-install them, but neither of them appear in the 'add/remove' programme. Is it OK to delete them directly from the programme folders?

they part of Office suite and not individually installed In which case its look for office listing and remove ,however you can choose the option top repair! remember to load your office CD

If I remember correctly. Go to control panel/add/remove and highlight "Office" then click on remove. You will be given the choice to remove or repair as Rtus says.

I know that you can add/remove certain features of each program from office but not sure if you can remove individual "Full" programs, you may be able to do this so give it a try, you can back out at any stage. Just need the confidence to keep clicking your way forward and checking the options offered. j.

Try "Detect and Repair" under the menu, Help. if you are having problems with them

In Add/Remove Programs, for the Microsoft Office entry, see if there's a "Change" option. If so, click it and see if it allows you to uninstall individual programs.

insert the office cd and on start up you will have an option of repair and uninstall. i did it last week when i upgraded to office 2003.

Thanks for the advice, I've un-installed & re-installed Office97. Excell now works OK but when I try to access Word I still get the message:- 'Winword has caused an error in <unknown>. Winword will now close>.
Any further ideas please?
