MS Money - Restoring from backup

  montydog 13:34 10 Nov 2005

I'm trying to restore my accounts, in Money 2005, from a pen drive. But, whatever I try, I get a message along the lines that I'm not allowed, disk is write protected etc etc. Password is correct.
Any suggestions gratefully received. Win XP SP2, recently clean re-installed (hence the backup problem)

Try copying the file to your hard drive; check the file properties and change them from read only.

I've already tried this (to my desktop) which Money finds but then will(can)not use??

Whats the file extension on the pen drive?

Hi dickens

The file extension is d1

It should be .MBF or .MNY

Does this mean I'm stuffed - or can I just change the file extension??

A call to MS money help desk may get you out of a jam. If you have nmade more than two calls it will cost. Try an e-mail for support. Sorry I cant help any more
