have they physically changed from mp3 format or has media player stolen the file association and changed it to the media player icon instead of win amp?to find out right click suspect file and select properties if the file is still mp3 it will say if its the microsoft format it will say .wma.if its still in mp3 format run the bit in win amp which says associate music files with win amp and they will be changed back.

if its about 3 mb then it still mp3 but if its over 30 mb then its changed to wma

Don't confuse .wma with .wav. A .wma is SMALLER than MP3!
