mp3 player not accessable

When first used the mp3 player was recognised by win 98SE. Now if the player is plugged while 98 SE running Windows Explorer does not see it straight away, and hangs if refresh is used. Rebooting the computer with the mp3 player already plugged in allows Explorer to see the player as a storage device and it can be accessed. Tried two other players with the same results. Various different leads and a powered hub tried no change.

If I reme3mber rightly Win 98 does not support 'Hot connections',even with USB. Just plug in & re-Boot. no problem.

Thanks for reply, but the mp3 player did originally work when plugged in hot. Then for no apparent reason stopped.

You probably need to re-install the drivers. You should be able to hot plug a flash player with W98se.
