Mozilla Firefox and?Java? features

I am using Firefox now instead of IE6, which I am happy with (very). I know that there will be web pages out there that do not work 100% with Firefox, but can you tell me if there is a way around this one?:-

When I put an auction on ebay using IE6, there is a nice window to put your text in and you can change the font, colour etc really easily as if it were in a word processor.
Unfortunately, if I create an auction using Firefox, I get a window that will only accept HTML, which I cannot use due to my ignorance.

Is there any way of having the full capabilities of the ebay web page in Firefox?? Is it a Java thing??

thanks in advance.
