Mount Ranier - what is it, how can I use it?

I have an MSI CR52-M CD-RW that states it supports Mount Ranier. Magazines also mention this, but what is it and how can I access this? My understanding is that it can be used as a more effective alternative to packet writing CDRW using something like InCD. Do I have to buy some software package to use this system? Perhaps I've missed something really obvious here.

If using Mount Ranier means buying expensive software, can anyone recommend a freeware alternative to InCD? The version of Nero that came with the CD-RW did not include InCD or any alternative. many thanks..

Sorry, bit of duplication here on first example due to different URL links...:-)
