Hi,
Have an amd k6/2 350
M/B GA-5AA VER 1.2
cHIPSET am megatrend ALIM1541 REV 4
KNOWN SUPER I/O CHIP NOT FOUND

Can I swap the cpu for a 450/500 one, how do I find what the M/B will run?

goto a search engine....google etc...and type in the make and model of your MOBO....it should get you to the home page where you can find the low down on your MOBO's capabilities!!

blowworm, GigaByte just say that your motherboard will run Intel® MMX™, AMD K6®-2, K6®-3, IBM®/Cyrix®, IDT™ processors. I am sure the answer is that it will be fine for the 450 or 500MHz processor, but you will need to refer to the manual for the switch settings, so you will also be able to confirm the processor speed question there. Thanks Powerless, so it looks like a new m/b...may as well get a new computer to save messing about esp as I havent a clue what iam diong.
