Just a quick on this, wondering whether anyone has come across this in the past.

If a motherboard has a digital output header but no visible output at the back of thecase, is there any way/ connector to make one?

According to Belarc

Board: NF-MCP61
Bus Clock: 201 megahertz
BIOS: Phoenix Technologies

Yeah. I need an optical out to link up to my surround sound and this mobo and your sound card you have uploaded doesn't seem to have one? I need the same as the backnof a ps3.
