Yes,your system is sharing some of your current 1GB for graphics. Another 1GB would definitely help.

If your motherboard allows it, fit 1GB in addition to the two chips you already have.Some mobos are very picky about unmatched chips, differing sizes and the order in which they are set.I suggest visit the Crucial web site for them to match the type of RAM they sell you.If you still have a motherboard manual look there for any size matching and placement restrictions
I'd use a matched pair of 512mb sticks, this will be quicker than a single 1gb stick if your MB utilises dual channel memory
As it's dual core, you will probably find they need to be installed in pairs.ie 2 x 512, or 2x 1GBfor crucialclick here
Going for 2x1 GB because they are fairly cheap at the moment on Crucial.BE
