Monitor goes funny colour

Although I will not be using it anymore as I have a new computer system, I wold like to know the likely cause of the screen's appearing suddenly heavily biased to green and blue, and if there is a quick and free cure. Then I can decide if it is suitable for recycling to a charity shop or similar.

If a CRT monitor, then probably a bad solder joint somewhere in the red circuits. Not a job for the amateur.

A cable issue is also a possibility, though a lesser one.

I forgot that essential. It is a 17" 4:3 LCD/

have you check the cable?

  ubuntu1user1jb 22:09 03 Apr 2010

and also how old is it?

I'll double check the cable: I presume you are thinking of a loose connection.
Monitor is nearly 7 y.o. and has never shown any signs before.

Solved! Even though the connector felt tight a screw was loose. *in the connector that is).
