Win XP Pro. Pent. 111

Hi everyone

After booting up, everything works OK, no strange sounds or POST beeps etc., but, after about 5-7 minutes, the monitor goes blank. I've checked cables etc.
Any ideas gratefully explored.

Cheers

Not wishing to state the obveous, you have checked screen saver etc.....

If thats not it then sounds like a gfx prob to me

I've checked the screen saver and power saving settings. BTW, what's 'gfx' (pardon my ignorance)

Do you get the "No signal" text on the screen, or just a blank screen.

I get a 'no signal' message.

Your graphics card may be faulty/overheating, the message exonerates the monitor I think. May be a process of elimination, you might like to install Everest software, this may show up some odd temperatures.

Thanks for that. I'll download and try it.

In addition, if your graphics card has a fan, check that it is still working; also check the air flow through the case is not being unnecessarily obstructed by cables etc.

I think there may be a more recent version, I have it but cannot remember how I got it V20035.
