Try a different monitor power lead first. (electric kettle lead)eg.

Have you got a loose or damaged wire, connector within your cable/plug set-up.

"does anyone know what might be going on"

The monitor is very likely faulty. Prove it by tring it on another system.

It could be a number of things that are going wrong. First try typing "Monitor" in the help box and see what others have done.

It cold be a loose Graphics card or a cable or your RAM could be the cause. Work on a system of ellimination but first check the wiring in the lead plug as previously suggested.

If it still doesn't work properly you can report back and get better help on the subject.
