Modem Crashes PC

I have installed a Soltek motherboard to a computer, everything works fine, but when I try to connect to the Internet, the computer crashes and reboots. We have tried different modems and inserted the modem into different slots, but the same thing happens. I have tried it in another motherboard, the same one, Soltek, and the same happens. Can anyone out there HELP?

Have you made sure you have the latest drivers for the modem also have a look on the board makers website as some boards and modems have compatabillity problems and patches are available for them.

Hi Cuddles.
thanks for your reply. The modem is new and I would think that the drivers were up to date, and I have tried another modem and still the same. I am looking on their website but find it difficult to find anything.

Although the modem is new it does not mean it has the latest drivers as you do not know how long the seller has had it in stock.
