Modem on COM3

  Ollyolly 10:23 23 Oct 2003

I have a problem when getting off line. I receive an error message concerning 3cmlink.exe.

My modem manufacturer says that the modem sould be connected to COM1 or COM2. It is currently connected to COM3.

How do I change this?

Hi Ollyolly, com 1 and com 2 are external ports (the ones at the back of your pc), com 3 is a virtual port generated by the drivers for an internal modem. If you have an internal modem you have no control over what it calls the port.

Hi again Ollyolly. Regarding your error message, you may be able to stop this by downloading the latest drivers for your modem. You should be able to find the drivers for your model from this site :
