Hi there

I have a problem with sorting out the front panel conectors on a imedia 5055 MoBo , it is a Gigabyte MoBo GA-8ISIML ver 1.0 , but it is a version that is not on the Gigabyte site they only have ver 1.1 and above , and the Front panel conectoron the MoBo is not the same .

Info from iMedia 5055 web site

1.HDR Blink green 2.HDR Blink yellow 3.FP BUT in 4.GND 5.FPSLP 6.GND 7.Blank 8.IR P 9.Chasis Intrusion

10.HD PWR 11.HAD 12.GND 13.FP Reset 14.+5V 15.IRRX 16.GND 17.IRTX 18.Chasis Intrusion

Actual Leads from front Panel

1. HDD Led 2 pins
2. Rest SW 2 pins
3. Power SW 2 pins
4. Power Led 3 pins ( centre pin blank)

Can anyone help me as to what Leads go on where ! . ps: the numbers I have put on to help .

Are you sure that your motherboard is a Gigabyte GA-8ISIML and not a Gigabyte GA-8SIML

As unable to find any information on the Gigabyte GA-8ISIML motherboard

You can download the GA-8SIML (Rev 2.0) motherboard manual from this site

On page 21 it tell you how to connect the front panel cables

Have you connected them in the right direction?
Some of the connectors have the correct markings but wrong colour of wiring or vice versa.

Try and do the easy ones first and see what you are left with.

Hi there

Thanks for your help , it is a GA-8SIML sorry for the mistake , I need version 1.0 any other version above has a different front panel connector .
you can see that I am new to this , I just realy wanted to know what the wording on the imedia web site front panel means , in relation to the wiring I have .

Thanks again for reply .
any version above 1.0 is different , that includes version 1.x , 1.x is v 1.1 and above , does not include v 1.0 .

It looks like V1.0 was an OEM special for the imedia range.

I could give you my guess but it looks like someones done it already !:
