missing VxD where can I get it

I am working on a PC and have had to change the modem. Was Connexant and changed to Ambient.

When I was trying to get the conex to work I tried just about every driver on the disc.

Amongst which I seem to remember loading a driver for ESS.

Anyway the new Modem now Ambient works but when I reboot I get the missing VXD press to continue which is rather annoying, I tried loading the ESS drivers again to solve but no joy.

Can anyone tell me where to get the missing VxD
i.e. Windows/system/VMM32/Esuart.vxd

I have done a search on google but all refer to the modem drivers and as I have already tried them I don't want to keep installing modem drivers. I just require the Esuart.vxd file to copy into the system folder.

Does anyone have it or can point me to a link to obtain it?

the line in the autoexec.bat file which matches what you have written above.

If looks like the uninstall has been untidy and left a command line in the autoexec.bat when you took the drivers off.

If you are a careful person/or lack Windows knowledge you should make a boot disk prior to messing around with autoexec.bat and/or config.sys.
