missing file window on booting up

  bendigo 12:09 26 Apr 2005

Each time I boot up, I get the following message:
"Windows cannot find 'monitor.exe.' make sure you typed the name correctly and try again. " It then tells me how to search for a file.
I have never typed 'monitor.exe'. I have searched for the file to no avail. I just close this window and everything works fine.
I have windows xp home edition. I have looked in the start up section of system using msconfig, but cannot see an obvious answer. Help!!
