You could try EASEUS Partition Master click here

What does Disk management show.

I would guess that the drive will be so many GB healthy NTFS and then another section shown as unallocated.

IF so right click on the unallocated and create a partition and format

Disk management only shows 127 GB of 320GB ,there's no unallocated space/partition

Will try EASUES

I have removed the HDD and used a caddy to format, the HDD is now showing 299GB,but when the XP disc is used,it still states 127GB before the install starts.

You have not updated XP from its basic installation. It originally had a disk size limit of 127GB.

Update to SP3 and you will see all the drive

Hi,thats what I thought,but I don't have a XP with SP3,will have to slip stream it.

Hi ,You were correct bremner, got hold of a XPSP3 disc, and the partition shows 300GB.

Am currently installing the pre SP XP,and will update to P3 after, cheers again all for your help.

Many thanks.
