HiMy son has gone off at uni and is looking to find a cheap laptop to use. Can anyone advise me as to what would be the minimum requirements he would need to use on the Uni broadband network?
Just about any, exept the very old
Provided it's got a slot for Wi-Fi card
Thanks for the advice. My machine from 1998 wouldn't work - think it was a pentium 2
Reasonable spec, and very reasonable price. And its a Dell. In fact I bought one today click here
Depends on the ISP they use, NTL based ISP's such as Freedom, Virgin and Tesco's offer support for Win98SE and onwards - I would have thought BT based ISP's would also.
Assuming this is a wired and not wireless network then any laptop with a Network port.Ignore anything about ISPs as it's an internal Uni network they'll be using.
